Mr. Blois’ junior year English class was an academic highlight of my time at Wolfson. Not only did we read books now banned, we actually discussed them like adults! We were treated far more like advanced students than in the travesty offered for our senior year with another teacher. He also taught us practical, useful things, such as how to properly write a check, keep a check register, and balance a bank statement. Blois had a rare gift: he was able to light fires under students’ behinds without actually burning them.
